A huge thank you to everyone who supported Hammer for Habitat in late June, when more than 200 volunteers built wall panels for two Morris Habitat homes in Perth Amboy.
This annual event brings the community together to build homes and hope. Many companies and organizations made this successful event happen by contributing financial and hands-on support, including: CBRE; Park Avenue at Morris County; Beasley Media Group and radio stations WDHA105.5 and WMTR; Intact Insurance; Faegre, Drinker, Biddle & Reath; Insperity; Mapfre Insurance; Garden Savings Federal Credit Union: Horizon Pest Control; Liuna Laborers/North Jersey Laborers 3; Koplin Auto Body; AVE by Korman Communities and Bonnie Brae School. Morristown Lumber and Supply Co. contributed in-kind support. IHOP of Cedar Knolls provided breakfast, and The Frog Sports Bar & Restaurant in Morristown contributed boxed lunches. Homeowner-in-progress Rita worked alongside the volunteers, earning sweat equity toward her home at The Crossings at Bennett Avenue in Randolph
What is a Panel Build?
A Panel Build is a sponsored event where Morris Habitat for Humanity brings the construction site to you. Morris Habitat supplies the building materials, tools, safety equipment and professional supervision. The objective is to volunteer at your place of business by building the interior and exterior wall panels of a Habitat home alongside Morris Habitat partner families. Morris Habitat provides skilled supervision through the Faithful Construction Volunteers, made up of well-versed volunteers who build with Morris Habitat regularly. Along the way you will be standing up all of the wall panels to form the frame of the house in the parking lot and will be given the opportunity to sign the walls you construct with well wishes for the future homeowners.
It is a great way to volunteer with Morris Habitat for Humanity!
Where was Hammer for Habitat 2022?
The beautiful Park Avenue at Morris County campus hosted Hammer for Habitat in the parking lot of their 200 Campus Drive building in Florham Park. Co-workers came together to build wall panels alongside future Habitat homeowners and enjoy music and entertainment!
On Tuesday June 21st enjoy WDHA played music live and on Wednesday June 22nd everyone celebrated the onset of summer with food truck fun! The event kicked off with an opening ceremony at 9am on Tuesday.
